Hello I'll be doing a series of breeding guides to explain what is all breeding about and what useful things you can do with it

4th Gen Breeding Guide: Part 1 E0mnmp

Breeding Guide: Part 1

Breeding:

Breeding is a method introduced in the 2nd generation make 2 pokemon of the same species or Egg group have offspring, which was later enhanced to make it possible for the newer generations to inherit many useful facts which can be either Egg Moves, Individual Values or Natures.

DayCare Center:

4th Gen Breeding Guide: Part 1 Daycare

The Daycare center is the only possible way to breed pokemon, it is a building where you can leave up to 2 pokemon so the daycare couple can take care of them, if the 2 pokemon are compatible either by species or Egg group they will be able to breed.

In D/P/Pt the Daycare Center is located in Solaceon Town
In HG/SS the Daycare Center is located in Route 34

Egg Groups:

4th Gen Breeding Guide: Part 1 2vdqwz8

Egg Groups are groups which tell if 2 pokemon are compatible with each other to breed, there are 16 of them and a pokemon can has up to 2 of them. If 2 pokemon are in the same Egg group they are able to breed

All Pokemon (except for the ones in the NO eggs group) are able to breed with ditto however, ditto can't be bred with another ditto

(further explanation coming in the next guide)

If you breed 2 pokemon of different species the offspring species will be of his/her mother, for example if you breed a male gyarados with a female salamence the baby pokemon will be a bagon

Egg and Egg Steps:

If you leave 2 compatible pokemon in the Daycare soon the daycare man will tell you he found an egg next to your pokemon after you receive it you'll have to walk with that egg until it hatches, each pokemon has its own Egg Step Number so you will have to walk with your pokemon that amount of steps to make it hatch

Flame Body/Magma Armor Trick

If you have a pokemon with the ability Magma Armor or Flame Body in the first slot of your party your egg's Step Number will be cut to half, so it can come handy if you are breeding pokemon with larger Egg Step Numbers

After you do all of this congratulations! You will have a newly hatched pokemon which will be at lvl.1 ready to be trained or to breed to have offspring

Breeding Wynaut/Munchlax/Happiny/Mime Jr./Chingling/Budew/Bonsly/Mantyke/Azurill

These Pokemon can't be normally get by breeding their evolutions so you will have to give their parents a certain item so the result is one of these and not for example if you breed 2 snorlax getting another snorlax, with this trick you'll get muchlax instead of snorlax

-To get Munchlax you'll have to attach to one of its parents (Snorlax) the Full incense while it is breeding

-To get Happiny you'll have to attach to its mother (Chansey/Blissey)the Luck incense

-To get Wynaut you'll have to attach to one of its parents (Wobbuffet) the Lax Incense

-To get Mime Jr. you'll have to attach to one of its parents (Mr.Mime) the Odd Incense

-To get Chingling you'll have to attach to one of its parents (Chimecho) the Pure Incense

-To get Bonsly you'll have to attach to one of its parents (Sudowoodo) the Rock Incense

-To get Budew you'll have to attach to one of its parents (Roselia/Roserade) the Rose Incense

-To get Mantyke you'll have to attach to one of its parents (Mantine) the wave incense

-To get Azurill you'll have to attach to one of its parents (Marill/Azumarill) the Sea Incense

Can't wait to see what else you do with this. I'll add it to the master list. Thanks AV!
