Pokémon 'hack' section? Please Vote!

I'm trying to see who would be interested in a Pokémon 'hack' section in the forum. Please vote and post!

Pokémon Hack section:
This section would be for original rom/emulator hacks. Members could post games that they've created, or games that they've downloaded/played and want to share with others.

It would also be a place to ask other members for help creating plot lines, map and character sprites, and so on.

Basically anything having to do with software that allows you to hack roms, or create games from scratch would go here.

Sub categories would be created if the section got big enough.

If we have lots of people deciding to do this, then it would be a good decision. Unfortunately, I don't know a lot of people that do hacked Pokemon games.

but i do know loco is doing hacks i think....

I was thinking the same, which is why I was trying to include the sharing of hacked games as well (and also just idea swapping for potential future games)

Well, if it has its own section i think its a really good idea, i dont use them, but i think many people would be happy with it

Well,I don't use hack because I dont want to become a cheater,but if others do then an Hack Section would help them

Hacking doesnt means that you cheat D: It means that you make your own games

Okay, but do we really need one? What's the difference between doing one in the General Pokemon Discussion than a new section? It's not like we talk about it on the Pokemon Discussion a lot. I know Loco is doing a hacked game. I just don't see the point on why we can't just talk about it on the Pokemon General Discussion. =/

It's going to be like the Food Discussion. First it's going to be interesting, then it doesn't get a lot of posts. <_<

it's fine to be against the idea you guys o3o this is just a poll to see if there is any interest for it.

I'm quite interested in this. However, if ever this does happen, I'd suggest you'd set it viewable for members only, so guests/stalkers can't access it o3o

Of course, that's what I would do. It's technically up to you on the forum's veiw settings.

I can easily get a hack a rom..... using PPSE and Pokesav.... though my actual games are the retail copies

Pokesav and PPSE aren't hacks. A hack is a game such as Pokémon Brown or Pokémon Liquid Crystal.

hey, roberto knows how to hack, his manufucturer(omeg) creates the shinygold of the GBA....so, he's the right person.

yeah i hacked Ruby for the VBA with CE [cheat engine] and Liberty BASIC changed some of the sprites and encounter rates, among other in game values.

I say go for it! After all, it may be good for people, as I play hacks. :3

I'd say no solely because hacking is illegal and it's against Forumotion's TOS.


...I doubt they really care though, considering the abundance of hacking sites. The worst that could happen is the entire forum being shut down...

Hacking ROM's: If extracting the data from a video game that you didn't make weren't already illegal, you get to mess with code that other people painstakingly made to pay for their families' survival and give them no credit! Woo, how fun.
