I can't beat my rival!!!!

Ok, so I'm in the Goldenrod Tunnel to rescue the Director. And I DID NOT KNOW my Rival would want to battle me. I can't beat him! Maybe this is because my Pokemon are so low leveled. Can you suggest any training places? I'll post my team for you guys.

Oh god I fail. I didn't have to plan anything. Why are you having so much trouble with this? Although.... I kinda cheated and used my Red Gyrados along with my random team consisting of stuff like a Machoke and a Togetic.
