Rival silver?

I just wanna get something straight, Is Silver, the rival in gold,silver,crystal, soul silver and herat gold the son of giovanni, the leader of team rockket?
As far as I know they failed to say so in the old games, but the new celebi event says a diffrent story.
You go back in time with celebi and learn more about team rocket and your rival. In the cut scene, you see silver talking to giovanni and afterwards celebi sends you to another time to battle giovanni.
so why is silver talking to giovanni?
they dont look alike though

it's true. giovanni is silver's dad and they're arguing... here's my theory:

okay, so there's a lady. she falls in love with byron in sinnoh then has raork. she gets fed up with byron's and her son's obsession with rocks and decides to go to johto. she meets giovanni and has silver. later, she gets into a car accident and dies.

actually there is a proper reason... i can't seem to remember... but in the first series somewhere it said that either ash's or his rival's dad is a member of team rocket.
I know it doesn't make much sense but i know someone's dad it a member of team rocket.

in the manga that follows gold, silvers background is explained in depth, giovanni is infact his father, heres a link to all the pokemon mangas that are out so far. godls adventures start at chapter 90. all the chapters before that are about red, green, yellow, and blue.

I got the event Celebi from Japan and I activated the event.

Silver was complaining to Giovanni he said...

"Why would you disband the Team you spent so much to make just because a child defeated you?"

Then I dont remeber the rest ^_^;;

But in general, Silver was angry at Giovanni because he gave up on Team Rocket because of Red
