Bug Catching Contest Rage

I've been trying out the contest this past day by saving and resetting, and the one thing that annoys me the most is how the others always find this magical paras to rule them all, but all I find are lvl 8 caterpies and the occasional third place worthy pinsir. Maybe I have no luck, or maybe I'm just doing something wrong, I've only placed about 2 times over 20 different attempts. *back to raging*

I haven't actually tried it yet...I'll let you know when I do though!

I have the same problem. I have actually only ever placed once, and that was only third place.

You're more lucky than me, I'll say. :S

I fail at the bug catching contest. Never placed once. >.<;

If you give them a status problem or lower their HP, then they're less likely to come out in the top 3.
Just throw a Pokeball at a Pokemon if you like it and hope for the best. I've won this way with a level 30 Kricketune in SS.

I only ever placed pretty low.. I came across a Scyther once, but it was too difficult to catch. That mad me pretty angry ><

You're catching Pinsir and Caterpies.. Of course you're not placing.

I don't think it really matters which Pokemon it is as long as it's not Wurmple... as long as the level is decently high and it doesn't have any status problems.
Pinsir is also just as rare to find as Scyther, making it one of the least likely to find.

I find Scyther all the time. I never want 'em. I haven't seen a single Pinsir, though.

Lv 14 FULL HEALTH syther and pinsers are teh way to go! teh more health they have teh better u place

I think I found a Butterfree once, but despite being a third level evolution, it isn't really worth much.

That's just it though. I'm rarely ever placing because I rarely ever find something to catch. I'm not dumb enough to think a caterpie would get me 1st place. Ya don't have to be such a dink.

nope it doesnt matter the level or pokemon, a stringer pokemon with no status problems are more likely to come in first place

I always just get Volbeat and Illumis at their Max Level of 36 to get first place. Don't damage em or waste Ball Park balls on others.

I'd imagine that this is because they evolve at such low levels.

Yeah, plus, Butterfree is kinda ugly and useless compared to some other Pokemon of his type.

Shiny Butterfree has cool wings, though?

Not as cool as shiny anything with wings >< I trained a butterfree once to level 57 and it was awful!

In Yellow Version.

I've only placed first place once, and it was with a Butterfree :3 If you catch it at full health AND a good level (no status), you're in.

I usually place second or third.

Pokemon with more health and level have more chances of winning
