Mythical creatures

I'm very interested in legends and myths and I like to learn about them. My favorite Mythical creature would have to be a Griffin but I have one question. Who invented the griffen? Who "saw" it or whatever? that's what I wanna know

I think the unicorn came about because someone saw a horned goat from the side, and it's two horns looked like one to them.

My mom saw a unicorn at the zoo! It was a deformed goat that was born with one horn. Sailors saw manatees and were drunk, seasick, and crazy and thought they were beatiful sea women XP

well actually unlike most ppl think these things are real all of them are, the scienticic community however are being annoying and saying "unless you can bring us a live or dead 1 they don't exist" and alot of the times they go to ppl who know nothing about mythical creatures.

Phoenixes are also really cool.. probably the prettiest mythica creatures out there. And they are so noble and beautiful.. gracious, too. Harry Potter ftw!
