Dream League Get-Together

Hey, everyone. So I'm a new member on PokéCommunity, and I saw that they have these things called Get-Togethers once a year.

We don't have to call it a get-together, but it's basically a forum that appears once a year. Then, we have a big chat thread where people can talk, and then we have multiple events and contests, such as art contests, drawing contests, writing contests, wifi contests, PO contests and more!

Some ideas for contests could be:


Get-Together Chat
Official chatting thread for the Get-Together. Everyone gets together here and chats about absolutely anything. Big part? It's community-wide and everyone's invited.

Get-Together Singing Contest
Sing your heart out! Are you the PokéCommunity's best singer?

Gen 5 Drawoff
Illustrate a recently announced Generation 5 Pokémon and vote for the best!

iSketch
Pokémon-style Pictionary. No drawing skills required (it's funnier that way!), just brush up on your Pokémon terminology!


Gaming nights
It's the four nights of gaming! Let's see who's the best at this official community gaming meet with these games:
Day 1: SSBB
Day 2: Mario Kart (Wii Version)
Day 3: Mario Super Strikers (Wii version)
Day 4: Pokémon Battle Revolution

Create-a-Pokémon contest
Think up a Pokémon to your own specification! You make the stats, the name, its typing, abilities and more!

Pokémon Game Map-off
Be it beautiful or playable, test your mapping skills against others!

The Four Nights of Trivia
Host some trivia nights! Make questions, ask everyone. Who gets it right? Who is the quizmaster?

Game relay challenge
Grab a team, race, and battle against the gym leaders of your Pokémon games!

Movie night
For certain nights of the get-together, watch a movie with some other members! See what they think while you sit back and chew on popcorn all night! Create a special thread and watch the same Pokémon movies together! Find them online, or watch them on TV or DVD!

Pokémon Online Tourney
A tournament with stats and every other detailed aspect of battling Pokémon!

Small writing contest
Can you write the best short story in four days?

Fanart contest
Are you a great artist? Let's see your skills. It's you vs. DL!

Pokémon Snap, anime version
Scroll through your old (or new) time episodes of Pokémon and find the funniest snap!

The Great Pokémon Race
Everyone chooses a Gameboy Advance, Gen. 3 game, either Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, LeafGreen or FireRed and does a run through the game as fast as they can! Contestants will have the whole week to complete this challenge, and please take screens, (you must play this on Visual Boy Advance, yes, there is one for macs too.) Take a screen of you doing various things in your run, especially someone saying your name while talking. Take a screen of the first screen where it shows how long your adventure went on as soon as you beat the champion and the person with the lowest time wins!


So, you can post some event ideas.... I think this could be really fun!

Watching a movie together would be fun This sounds great! Can we have a fanmade event pokemon giveaway, too? Maybe like a special Dream League Jirachi. ^_^

Back on that *other* forum I came from, we had a birthday celebration that was sort of like this only way less fun :p

We could set up a trade sort of competition to see who can offer the best trades or something? Or just have a big Get-Together trade thread too. I think we could probably have a like... Get-Together Jirachi exclusive to the Get-Together.

I like the Jirachi idea too. If I get one it'll be my fifth Jirachi woot!

Why don't we have like a race through a game. Everyone must beat a single game, and post the time they have on the save after the champion? You would have to screen it, meaning you'd need to use VBA.

I saw that idea, but I declined the idea, as we don't really have enough time in like a week to do that.

But, I'll add it to the OP in case others like it.

VBA + Speed Up = You can finish in 2 days, but the game time shows the exact time you played it.

oyez. I forgot about the speed up~ As long as everyone has Speed Up, then that's fine.

That's called the podcast fool. I wouldn't want to do that, as some people might feel uncomfortable about others hearing their voice.

An art contest sounds like fun.

Since some people don't like the movies we could do some episodes instead.

One from Kanto/Orange Islands
One from Johto
One from Hoenn
One from Sinnoh

We can do that or a movie

For the hoenn episode i wanna do the one where ash gets posessed.

Once/if I ever find my Platinum, I could probably do a something of a giveaway. I have a legit shiny Zigzagoon, a 1/8192 one in my Emerald. I could clone a bunch with items and stuffs. The only problem is that it's hardy... And caught in a masterball. D:
