We all know about it. Some of us have even gotten it if we're lucky. But how do we get it? I found out that you have to fight a wild pokemon with pokerus.
But! How can you tell if a wild pokemon has pokerus? YOU CAN'T! I went through all of leafgreen and Soulsilver and never got it!

But my little sister got it at like the beginning of Sapphire! How does nintendo choose when it's possible to get pokerus.

It's a pretty rare thing....I don't recall the exact probability of getting it though.

The probability of getting pokerus is EXTREMELY low i believe it is a 3/65,536 chance, but all you really need to do to catch it is go fighting wild pokemon while grinding up some levels or EV training, once i remember i got a shiny with pokerus xD i got extremely lucky that day

Just to let you know, international pokemon raise your chance of getting pokerus...

I remember a ludicolo i got from GTS in my platinum got pokerus 5mins after i received it...
But it is still very rare

Yeah, it's really rare. I randomly got it on my shieldon after battling Volkner in Pearl, which is kind of funny because I didn't use it at all. XD

I think trading increases your chances of getting it. I remember I would check the Pokemon Dern Cattle and I traded, and almost all of them had PokeRus.

I was playing a Sapphire ROM and just outside of Wallace's city, my HM Slave got PokeRus and infected the rest of my team with it.

Today I finally got Pokerus! I was trading for a while yesterday using the GTS so I think trading does increase the chance of getting it.

Congrats, dude! Although, the other person must have had his/her Pokemon have Pokerus before trading.

The first time I got Pokerus, I thought it was bad, so I... *sniff* erased the game file. ;^;

Actually, the first time i got pokerus i was scared aswell ;-;

Especially because my friend says that if a pokemon faints and it has pokerus it will die and disappear completely from your game, So...i bought like 100 full restores so that wouldn't happen :}

Now i know the truth about it, but if you don't EV train it's pretty much useless :/

I don't know if it's TOTALLY useless if you don't EV train...

I mean you'll still get stat boost, they just wont necessarily be in the exact spot you want or need them.

I get what you mean though.

when i started up my white version like 3 months ago after beatting the elite four the second time i finally got pokerus lol; now my whole team has pokerus which is weird. on my black version none of them have pokerus and i am still ev training ;only at the fourth gym

Actually the first in my party was the first to get it. Even if it doesn't do anything, I still like how when it wears off, there's a little face. Surprised

It doesn't wear off, lol. It's just expired, which means it can't spread it to other pokemon. It still gets the bonus though.

cool. however, I still have a few that still have it so I could still spread it. It doesn't expire if they're in your PC. BTW, why are they always PCs? Why can't you have a Mac?
