Pokabu = Tepig
Mijumaru = Oshawott

What the names should be:

Mijumaru - Mijuru/Bob
Tsutarja - Gransk/Grasnak
Pokabu - Bacoflare/Flarig

Isshu - Isshu/Ishu

I've got the French and German names.

French
Tsutarja - Vipélierre
Pokabu - Gruikui
Mijumaru - Moustillon

German
Tsutarja - Serpifeu
Pokabu - Floink
Mijumaru - Ottaro

The German names are better than ours. >_>

Heck yeah, i'd totally get a german game just for better names .... guess i'll have 4 copies of this game. One Japanese, one english white, one english black, and one german.

Good thing we can rename our pokemon right off the bat ._.

I mean, I see what they did to combine words and get those names, but they dont sound too great. Maybe in Japan it sounds similar though...and they only sound decent to us because we dont know the real Japanese meanings.

anyway even though it's kind of obvious:
Snivy = Snake + Ivy (even though it kinda turns into a dragon)
Tepig = Tepid + Pig (I hate this one least...though it kind of sounds like how you would pronounce "teh pig")
Oshawott = Otter + O(sh)ean/(wott)er??? (actually I don't get this one)

Isshu isn't hard to pronounce. I wonder why they changed it? Maybe it sounded to asian for them, and this game is supposed to be based in America or something...?

Really retarded, I loved the jap name for the region isshu...

regarding the pokemon.... I preferred Smugleaf though we still don't know what crappy names the next two evo's get for the starters
tepig and snivy are OK, oshawott is just weird o.o

And yeah the german names are pwnage

I really like Snivy's name! And I guess Oshawott is OK. But Tepig? WTH? But yeah, it DOES remind me of the part in YOTSUBA&! manga where Yotsuba says "Daddy, it's tepid!"

Ha, you guys know that nearly everyone else has had the same reaction when the previous Generations came out. They were all like, "I hate these names and I'll never choose them!", yet years later, they now refer to their names like nothing. You don't know how many people yelled that they were going to say Goukazaru instead of Infernape, but everyone now says Infernape.

i'm already getting used to their names just from complaining about them xD

I'll probably end up using the English names, but remember: Every time you call Tsutarja "Snivy" and don't vomit a little, a true fan dies.

I will forever hate these names. I'll be using the names when referring to them, but that doesn't mean i'll have to like them.

I'll probably just end up calling the otter Osha, since it's shorter though. Kind of like how people just say Chiko for Chikorita.

I was planning on called Oshawott that as well. I wonder what their evolutions' names are going to be. Hopefully it'll be cool and unique.

I think i got the meaning of Oshawott's name. Osha sounds like Ocea, like in Ocean. Wott is the first syllable in Water, Ott is from Otter. so it's name is OceanWaterOtter.
