Now please don't be too disgusted by this but it has always been a thought, what do the humans eat in the pokemon world? I have seen them eating pokemon meat and it has been mentioned a few times but what do you think would be edible and what not?

It's been said in a few pokedex entries that Farfetch'd is a delicacy of sorts. o_o

There are real-world animals in the Pokemon world, they probably eat animal meat like humans.

I figured that there would be predator and prey pokemon but there are some that just don't seem to be either. I know Tauros would be their steak, Spoink their pork and Farfetch'd their roast duck/bird.

I was thinking about miltank wouldn't be eaten for beef as they are milking cows, though the Tauros (male counterparts) could be.

Yeah. It's kind of strange how they don't touch on this often in the show (or game for that matter)

I assume they just don't want to give little kids the idea that it is okay to eat something that can essentially be your pet :/

But in the game, there is actually a story where they talk about how you are supposed to "pick clean the bones of a pokémon" (I think a magikarp?) then release its remains back into the water where it will "magically" return to life. Reminds me of how native americans might have thought about eating wild animals.

I never heard that but I've noticed that there are lots of little things from different cultures in the Pokemon World.

Interesting... Could the pokemon world be so lucky to have heaps of magikarp that all taste like salmon? I wish I lived there!

that is so true, especially when people like me only fish to EV train.... mass murder of magikarp. it's amazing that they never run out in the games.

its surprising magikarp are still alive. because in a pokedex entry it said that they are the most pathetic pokemon.

They may be pathetic but the ocean is huge allowing many of them to live without being touched.
