Standard Tourney Rules 10/08/09

Please refer to these tournament rules if none have been givin for a specific tournament.

Tournament Rules (MUST READ)
You must enter each battle with 6 Pokémon or the match will restart
All 6 Pokémon must be different species(no teams with 3 Pikachus and 3 Raichus for example)
You do not have to tell the person you are fighting which Pokémon you are going to use, but your oponent is allowed to call you out if you violate one of the rules listed here.
NO HACKED POKéMON! If your team is all shiny starters for instance, your team will be suspect! (on the other hand, one or two Shiny Pokémon will not ruffle any feathers. I'm just trying to avoid glitched out Pokémon, or Pokémon with moves they wouldn't naturally have)
Don't be a poor sport if you lose a match. Just have fun! Who knows? A gym leader or elite 5 spot might open up for you in the future.

List of Clauses
Ubers Clause: No Ubers in your party! (check list below)
Sleep Clause: Only one pokémon at a time on your opponents team may be asleep
Evasion Clause: No moves are allowed that raise your evasion (this includes evasion raising items such as bright powder)
Chance Clause: No items that rely on pure chance are to be equipped to your Pokémon (Focus Band, King's Rock, etc...)
OHKO Clause: No ONE hit knock out moves! (Sheer Cold, Horn Drill, Fissure, and Guillotine)

General Tournament Play
Matches will be "Level 50 Singles" in the wifi room, best 2 out of 3. You may not change your team within the 3 battles, but you can change it before you face your next opponent. There will (most likely) be loser's brackets, so again, don't freak out too much if you lose right away.

*All other friendly/personal challenges within the Dream League do not have to be played by Tournament Rules, but players should agree on what rules to follow.

I'd propose changing No Legendaries to No Ubers. That way Wobuffet/Wynaut won't be used, and pokemon like Manaphy and Heatran will be allowed.

by ubers you mean like Pokémon with ridiculous stats? Or...?

It seems Manaphy was moved up to Uber. Most tourneys ban these pokemon.

Aah I see. That seems like a pretty good list to me! I'll add them in.

you know i have a list of ubers, OUs, and UUs on my site.

you should add the sleep clause to the rules. only one pokemon is allowed to be asleep at a time. I think that moves like Rest are fine in that situation if one poke is already sleeping.

i guess i should make my team with the pokemon i want and not restrict myself to less commonly used pokemon...

Yes, I was reading into the sleep clause. I believe I will add it in...it's no fun just to see who can make the entire other team asleep first :/

The Standard Rules as known in the competitive system/metagame are as follows (some of then were already mentioned):
- No Ubers - the smogon tier is the most used one
- Sleep Clause - you can put just one of your opponent's Pokemon to sleep at a time; rest doesn't count as one (it is auto-induced sleep)
- Evasion Clause - no moves ( Double Team) or items (Brightpowder) may be used to raise evasion. (Acupressure doesn't count as it is completely random)
- Hacks - more than 510EV's, full 31 IV's, unobtainable movesets - as the BraveBird+Hypnosis Crobat - as he has two dif parents two obtain those and no chain can be obtained)
- Item Hax Clause - any items that base chance on pure chance - Focus band, Brightpowder, King's Rock, etc
(Note:
Hax is a term for luck;
Focus band not to be missunderstood for Focus sash - the first may hold you with 1 hp ten times in a row, as for Sash it will keep you with 1HP just when you were hit from max HP)
- OHKO Clause - One Hit Knock Out - Guillotine, Sheer Cold, Horn Drill, etc) - those count as hax and can not be used
(Note: if they were allowed like in battle Tower, then you would see also Articuno with Mind Reader + Sheer Cold or even Smeargle)
- No Events Clause - this ensures that you and the opponent do not use WishBliss Wishmence or any other events; although they might be legit; most of them are AR-saved

Most play 100 Single, but sometimes there can be fought Double, or 50 ...

Alright, I've updated the rules slightly. I think they are pretty set now!

why level 50??? i don't really have any lv 50 pokemon that i can use. glaceon is 100 and absol is now 62

The level LIMIT isn't 50! o_o
Basically, it just makes every Pokémon (regardless of level) level 50. It sort of...evens out both teams. So you can enter with a level 40, level 60, or even a level 100!

I just said some play lvl 50, most I said play lvl 100. The WI-Fi is making them at 100 so who cares the level if you have ev'ed and moveset the Pokemon ...

Not all legendaries are Uber. Like Zapdos, Suicune, or Latias.

While Wobbuffet and Wynaut are Uber.

I believe Regigigas, Heatran, and Cressalia aren't Uber either.

I suppose I mix up "uber" with "legendaries" at times.
Basically, just refer to the list in the spoiler and you'll be all set
