This is my current SoulSilver team, though I'm planning on changing it temporarily to an all Eevee evolution team. (I'm obsessed, what can I say?) But, this is my current team. I'm looking for an evaluation of how effective it will be on the improved Elite Four (the second one) in the game SoulSilver. If you're willing to do the math, I welcome ideal levels for each Pokemon, because at the moment they're not strong enough to fight the second Elite Four.

This is the exact same team I beat the Elite Four with the first time.

Typhlosion lvl. 53 (M)@ Quick Claw
Ability: Blaze
HP - 163
ATK 107 / DEF 104 / sATK 132 / sDEF 122 / S 126
Sassy Nature
- Flamethrower
- Lava Plume
- Double-Edge
- Fire Blast
Gyarados lvl. 50 (F)@ Mystic Water
Ability: Intimidate
HP - 162
ATK 144 / DEF 105 / sATK 83 / sDEF111 / S 95
Docile Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Hyper Beam
- Surf
- Ice Fang
Umbreon lvl. 50 (F)@ Light Ball
Ability: Synchronize
HP - 171
ATK 93 / DEF 134 / sATK 79 / sDEF 134 / S 95
Naughty Nature
- Last Resort
- Assurance
- Confuse Ray
- Faint Attack
Espeon lvl. 50 (F)@ Shell Bell
Ability: Synchronize
HP - 144
ATK 77 / DEF 90 / sATK 148 / sDEF 116 / S 142
Bold Nature
- Last Resort
- Quick Attack
- Future Sight
- Psybeam
Ampharos lvl. 50 (F)@ Magnet
Ability: Static
HP - 157
ATK 96 / DEF 97 / sATK 128 / sDEF 101 / S 74
Docile Nature
- Signal Beam
- ThunderPunch
- ThunderShock
- Discharge
Lugia lvl. 50 (NA)@ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
HP - 167
ATK 104 / DEF 155 / sATK 97 / sDEF 159 / S 125
Impish Nature
- Extrasensory
- Iron Tail
- Hydro Pump
- Aeroblast

I also have a lvl. 50 Snorlax (Ability: Thick Fat, Naughty Nature, Moves: Block, Rollout, Crunch, Giga Impact), but I'm unsure whether or not I should replace one of the Pokemon above with it.

Hey, can you post the attacks these Pokemon have? It'll help for in-game evaluations. Very Happy

Fixed it! (My Diamond game was in so I couldn't check the attacks at first. Sorry)

you should probably re-do the EV's on your pokemon, they aren't to great

Typhlosion has 3 fire type moves, switch out lava plume and fire blast for some better ones such as hidden power, focus blast, Will-o-Wisp etc. and he has quick claw which doesn't help at all since he is already pretty fast

Gyarados is pretty bad for the most part, i would suggest Physical moves on it and Dragon Dance

Umbreon has the light ball which is useless on him, and i would suggest moves like mean look curse etc. on him instead of the ones you have on him

Espeon has 2 physical moves on him, defiantly not a good idea and i would get rid of psybeam for psychic and future sight for shadow ball or something

Ampharos has 3 electric moves, again thats not a good idea also i would suggest special moves instead of physical on him

Lugia....i usually don't like using ubers and you already have a psychic type on your team so i would get rid of it, but if you want to keep it you should get calm mind, rest, surf and psychic on it

hope i helped~

I have TMs, but all the moves they currently have are just ones they get as they level. It's probably why they lack some of the ideal ones you want them to have.
As for the items, light ball depends on who I'm facing. Sometimes Umbreon has it, sometimes it'll have a berry that's... what's the wording... resistant to certain types of attacks? Like, if I'm versing the first Elite Four, she'd have the berry that makes her resistant to psychic moves. She learns Mean Look at lvl 57, which is probably why she doesn't know it yet. I guess I'll have to train her to that lvl (though, I knew I'd have to train all my Pokemon more, which is why some of them lack certain moves) I'd like to keep Confuse Ray and Faint Attack if possible, but the others can go.
Espeon learns Psychic at 64, so there's a dream goal for the minimum level of Espeon I suppose. Could I get rid of Last Resort instead? Future Sight has actually been very helpful to me.
Typhlosion has quick law because of his current level being so low against the Elite Four. Any item you suggest for Typhlosion besides that?
For Lugia, should I switch it to Snorlax? Because that's my other high level Pokemon.
Gyarados obviously has to keep Surf. Hyper Beam I will gladly get rid of, and Hydro Pump I'm neutral. Ice Fang I'd like to keep though, seeing as he's the one with the ice move that is effective against dragons. What should I replace Hyper Beam/ Hydro Pump with, do you think?
I'm aware Ampharos doesn't have much variety in move types, but what would you suggest with the three electric ones? I have to keep at least one, because it's killer on the final Elite Four, I know.
Thanks for the critique. I'm sorry I asked you a couple more questions. You gave me move suggestions on Typhlosion, Umbreon and Espeon, but I'm a bit curious as for Gyarados and Ampharos.

I think you should get rid of Lugia for the Snorlax. UBERS are good in-game, but they make it too easy. The last time I remember using an Uber in-game (without ditching it) was Kyogre I traded into Ruby. Got it up to around level 98, with no rare candies.

Snorlax could help you with its bulk, so go with him/her.

This is an In-game team, not a competitive team. <__<

oh sorry, i forgot about the levels that they learn moves xD, im kind of use to just getting the moves that i want on them
on ampharos, T-wave and Power Gem(if he learns it soon) would be decent ideas to replace it
On Espeon get rid of both Last Resort and Quick attack because they are physical, the other moves are okay for in-game
On Typhlo, there aren't that much great items for it that you can get in-game so i would suggest just giving it charcoal so it powers up flamethrower a little bit and then give quick claw to something slow like umbreon or ampharos
Get rid of Lugia for Snorlax
On gyarados you should use you EQ tm on it and give it Dragon Dance or Waterfall

Try to train them a little more in Victory Road, get them up to something like 55, or just use rare candys. That would boost their stats, so that would help.

you should have typhlosion with timid nature
that goes for any pokemon with high SP.ATK
gyrados should be jolly
that goes for any pokemon with high ATK

Um... I do not quite understand, dangochao. I can't really change their natures, and the natures I wrote in for my Gyarados and Typhlosion are the ones that my game told me they had.

you don't need those natures for in-game, you don't even need the right EV's for in-game

sorry, im a perfectionist and even though this team is for in game only i would be breeding like crazy to get the proper natures. heck i still haven't beaten red yet cause im working on making the perfect team!im anal like that.(as in anal retentive)
but since you're not me, i would just say that to use the attack types to your advantage
example: your gyarados no mater what nature, will have a high ATK, so give him only physical moves. my gyarados knows waterfall, avalanche, bite, and thrash. not that i use him any more..
but i hope you understand what im getting at. ^_^

you have no feakin idea how many inferior evees ive hatched!
i just want one female evee with outstanding stats and a bold nature so i can make the joltion of my dreams Shocked
im using flawless parents with bold natures and ones holding an everstone, how much easier could i make it!!!!
