Gym Leader Tournament - RESULTS ARE IN! 11/17/09

battle videos will not upload if pokemon are hacked (except when the hack is perfect), so thats a way to see if a person was really using legit pokemon

Still, you cut out all the middle-work. Even if your stats are reasonable and legit-looking, if you didn't have to breed to get that high attack IV, or visit the tutor to add a certain move, it's unfair to those who did it the long way. In a competitive situation. If this were a Pokesav tournament, and the challenge was to create the best team you can to fight with, and everyone had the program and the option to hack their Pokemon, it'd be fair, but in an open situation like this it's really not a reasonable comparison. /2c

I see your point, that's why I said I would be fine with banning of PokeSav'd Legit teams. The thing is, even all of that work puts off potential players who wants to try out battle competitely, or even trying out new combinations (I wouldn't have chance to try Probopass if I didn't use PokeSav for him). If anything I see it as experimental and just basically shortcut if you have alot of stuff to do and you don't feel you'd have enough time to create all-brand new team and working on it every day.

The only thing that's very tiring to me is IVs, you could have great IVs but wrong ability, great IVs, right ability but wrong nature, THEN right nature/ability, but crap IVs. OR even perfect IVs in stats you don't need. Lanturn, Staryu, and Aipom was nasty for this.

EVs are very easy now, though. I didn't bother in older series but in D/P it becomes alot easier. I appulad to people who did all of hard working though, because it shows they have great patience to do all of these, just there are people who didn't. I tend to play Pokémon off&on and I only have time to IVbreed one or two Pokémon.

Sorry about derailing the whole topic about PokéSav, if there's any new discussion about it I'll take it to new topic somewhere else.

I've got perfect 5th party member, for some reason it didn't take much this time. Only about 25+ eggs hatched and I got him. Now after EVtraining, I'll work on sixth member, which should be -alot- easier due to only having one ability.

You earn the title of Gym Leader in the dream league + you have a shot at becoming an Elite Five member o_o

ALSO people Gym Leders & Elite Five get houses on my site (by the seashore if you haven't been there yet) I was thinking of including a short personal bio, a link to their personal site, and custom trainer sprites. Along side all of that, you get nifty badges to distribute ^0^~

Question, what if 20 people don't join the tournament. Will we start the tournament anyways?

If you have a partner on the brackets, you battle them as soon as possible (so basically, the tournament is officially started, even though we don't have the 20 slots filled)

If sign ups stop dead for like...4 weeks or so (which I really HOPE doesn't happen, and probably wont) then I'll probably just run the rest of teh tournament with everyone who is already signed up. But it's more fun with more people of course :3

oh no, the slots are filling up! still need 2 more pokemon and my newest stll hasnt learned its moves yet

Just my advice, hope i am not offending or bothering anyone with my ideas/suggestions:

As I said before the brackets aren't the same for everyone, some will have more battles until getting the last 8 ... 8 players are still needed to get the tourny started. You might consider making a 16player tourny (get out 4 empty slots).

The winners and runner-up's could get different prizes in Pokemon, items, specific titles.
The winner can be named the champion, he will battle against the people who would win against the E4; to defend his title he would have to compete in each tourny. The runner up's could be E4 or gym leaders.
